In 1979 I came to Tulane from the University of Iowa where I was a member of the Retina service along with Drs. Robert Watzke and Thomas Burton for five years and established their first Vitreo-Retinal Service. Subsequently, at Tulane, I then established their first Vitreo-Retinal Service which has grown from one individual to four with seven fellows. We are in charge of a University Hospital, a Charity Hospital, and three Veterans Hospitals. In addition, we have over 15 satellite clinics which extend throughout LA and Mississippi.
